A special kind of tin, known as Misumi tin, was mined from the Gojaku Peak mine beginning in the 1920s. Due to its uncommon property of changing tone with each strike after being refined, it was made into a noted export called the Hanuda triangle, but became known for its unsuitability for musical performances due to this trait.
