I'm sorry for not contacting you much. Are you well?
I am currently renting lodgings near our hometown, and life here is finally starting to go to plan. This is, of course, the first time I have ever been to the city, not to mention that I've hardly ever so much as ventured outside of the village, so just settling down and figuring out my next move has been a challenge.
Not only are there many intelligent teachers here, but there is also a wealth of books that I can look through, so I think I will be staying here for some time. I believe that for the time being this will be my life, but I intend to write you whenever I find the chance.
It wasn't fair to you when I told you that I wanted to leave the village, and all you did was send me off without questioning me.
One day, when I find an answer that satisfies me, I want to return to the village. When I do, I'll make sure to fulfil that promise I made to you.
